Is it Zarbon or Ginyu? There seems to be mixed views on this. On one hand, Zarbon sticks by Freeza's side nearly all the time. On the other hand, Ginyu is basically Freeza's go-to man when all else fails (lazy a***). So which? |

It's Zarbon. Ginyu was just his best mercenary. |

I'd go with the guy who's basically by Freeza's side at all times. Ginyu is just muscle. |

I give it to Ginyu because he really didn't have any business standing by Freeza's right side everywhere Freeza traveled. If their little organization fell, Ginyu would walk beside Freeza to the very end. |

Ginyu was the leader of the Ginyu force. In comparison, it would be like what the top general is to the president. The president's "right hand man" is the vice president, which is what Zarbon would be to Freeza. |

Zarbon was more like Freeza's groom of the stool than his vice president. |

Zarbon is clearly Freeza's esteemed henchmen, the fact the deigns to call him and Dodoria "san" gives credence to that Ginyu is more like Freeza's friend, whereas Zarbon is more like a really loyal servant |

Ginyu is more the guy I could see Freeza telling dirty jokes to while Zarbon is the one that doesn't get to laugh or he'll be choked.

I don't think Freeza really has any one single "right hand man" or "top ranking officer" or anything, though I suppose Ginyu, as the leader of his strongest team of troops, would be the closest thing to it. Zarbon and Dodoria were more just his two personal assistants, and being really strong was just one way they were useful. |

Yeah Ginyu is a hired thug and Zarbon is a bum wiper. Freeza doesn't need a right hand man. |

I always got the impression that Ginyu wasn't officially a Frieza Soldier. It appeared to me that the Ginyu Force was a group of mercenaries who were loyal to Frieza because he offered a continuous supply of work for them but were officially a seperate organization. Taking that into account, Zarbon would be Frieza's top henchman because technically Ginyu could tell Frieza he didn't want a specific mission (even if he never would). |

Just like Tao was a hired mercenary on Earth, the Ginyu force are hired mercenaries in Space. But instead of getting money, they get supplies and they get to keep their lives, because Freeza could've killed them without a problem if he wanted to. Zarbon would be the closest to a right-hand man, since that's basically being a personal assistant anyway. You could say that Ginyu was Zarbon's replacement. |

Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

Well the way that Frieza offered Goku the opportunity to replace Ginyu made it seem like Ginyu was his second-in-command if there ever were one. Taking the Ginyu force everywhere would be overkill; before the Namek events, few people could stack up to Dodoria or Nappa let alone Ginyu. In chess, one reserves their more powerful/valuable pieces for later, and that seems like what happened with Ginyu. |
